Descrizione: [Comment] The passages from Horace (Epodes 4, 11-12) and Cicero (Cluent. 13, 38-39) do not attest to the "uberatio" of manifest "fures," but refer, the former to the flogging of a slave, the latter to the "proscription" of the property of a bankrupt person, an operation for which the "columna Maenia" in the Roman Forum was a privileged location.
