Descrizione: [Comment] Cicero's fifth Verrine oration comes closer than any surviving Ciceronian oration to what we do not possess: a prosecution speech for «maiestas». Cicero's presentation of «crudelitas» as an exacerbating factor in a case of «repetundae» also demonstrates clearly the substantial overlap between «repetundae» and «maiestas» in the Verrine orations (3, 186 ; 4, 88 ; 5, 32 ; 5, 72 ; 5, 113 ; 5, 121 ; 5, 136 ; 5, 153).
