Description: [Abstract] This contribution by Caerols is intended to interpret the above mentioned sentence of Cicero referring to the participation of Clodius in the scandal of Bona Dea in the year 62 B.C. According to this new interpretation the otium of the young aristocrats would be tolerated until a certain degree, but the behaviour of Clodius would go beyond the accepted type of conduct.
