Description: The purpose of this research is to elaborate on the problem of the humanist concept of disegno in italian Renaissance architectural theory, particularly on its interpretation by Andrea Palladio and his theoretical references, emphasizing on projective methodology. The starting point of the analysis lies in the analogy established in antiquity between the creative processes of the forma in Cicero’s discourse and Vitruvius’ architectural forma.
