Ciononostante, in questi ultimi non mancano, in passi specifici, lezioni migliori rispetto ai manoscritti del gruppo R, che dimostrano come, in realtà, essi derivino probabilmente da un archetipo diverso da quello di R e probabilmente più corretto.The article compares two redactions of the "Quinta Catilinaria" and the "Responsio Catilinae", which we have received respectively through the manuscript Città del Vaticano, Bibl. Apost. Vat., Reg. Lat. 84 (12th century) and several manuscripts dated to the 15th century.The author argues for the superiority of the first redaction (R) over the second, which consists of a large group of codices, whose content has deteriorated over the time. Nevertheless, some specific passages of the text transmitted by the second group manuscripts contain better readings than those transmitted by the R-group manuscripts, which shows that, in reality, they probably derive from a different archetype, likely more accurate than that of the R-group.[Stefano Pellegrin, A.S.L. 2022 Liceo Cavour (Torino)]
