Description: [Abstract] The authors analyze Grillius’ sources for the theory of asystata in his commentary on Cicero’s De inventione. As one might expect, Grillius knows Hermogenes’ theories on the subject well. His use of Minucianus as a source is surprising. The description of each asystaton seems to come from Hermogenes, but the theoretical basis is from Minucianus, not Hermogenes.
