Description: A biographical introduction of Petrarch, revolving around an incessant inquisitio librorum that led the poet to set up one of the richest libraries of the 14th century and to establish, through the annotations made on the margins of his volumes, a lively dialogue with the authors of the past, first and foremost Cicero, is followed by the presentation of one of the most famous codices belonging to Petrarch, ms. 552-2 of the Mediathèque du Grand Troyes (olim Bibliothèque Municipale), also known as Cicero of Troyes. Through the transcription of some significant postscripts, we provide a glimpse of Petrarch's way of reading the rich Ciceronian collection. The article is accompanied by reproductions of folios from the codex bearing fine miniatures, most likely produced in the mid 14th century in an atelier in northern Italy. [Author] In french
