Descrizione: [APh] [Comment] La présentation de la domination romaine comme patrocinium libertatis Graecorum (Tite-Live 34, 58) est un anachronisme et ne correspond pas à la propagande romaine du II? s. av. J.-C. Cette idéalisation, que l'on retrouve chez plusieurs auteurs, notamment chez Tite-Live et chez Cicéron, n'est en réalité qu'un argument en faveur du sénat. Sur le terrain, des institutions d'origine grecque telles que l'évergétisme, la proxénie, etc. suffisaient amplement à exprimer les liens amicaux qui pouvaient éventuellement se créer entre dominés et dominants.
