Description: [L'Annèe philologique] [Comment] C. Bruun (=> 68-01120) has recently suggested that sexual undertones in the prosopopoeia of Ap. Claudius in Pro Caelio 34 are too vague to be satisfactory. On the contrary, a comparison with other texts suggests that the mere mention of washing in a sexual context could suggest a sexual act, the most usual being fellatio.
