Le 26 janvier 2023, dans les salons d’honneur du rectorat de Paris, à la Sorbonne, Carlos Lévy a reçu son épée d’académicien des mains de Pierre Laurens, lui-même membre de de l’Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres. Plusieurs centaines de personnes, venues du monde entier, étaient présentes. Autour de la famille et des amis, se pressaient les savants, des plus jeunes aux plus anciens, venus rendre hommage à leur maître et collègue. Plusieurs discours ont fait l’éloge de l’immense cicéronien et du spécialiste incontesté de Philon d’Alexandrie ; ils n’ont pas oublié le portrait de l’homme bonus ac peritus qui n’a jamais compté son amitié et sa bienveillance pour les autres. La SIAC s’honore de compter avec Carlos Lévy, illustre membre fondateur, un académicien parmi ses membres et au sein de son conseil scientifique. C’est avec joie et respect que tous les membres de la SIAC ont lui ont offert l’épée d’académicien.

Erano presenti diverse centinaia di persone provenienti da tutto il mondo. Intorno alla famiglia e agli amici, gli studiosi, dai più giovani ai più anziani, sono venuti a rendere omaggio al loro maestro e collega. Diversi interventi hanno elogiato lo straordinario studioso di Cicerone e l’indiscusso specialista di Filone di Alessandria; non hanno dimenticato il ritratto dell’uomo bonus ac peritus che non ha mai messo in conto la sua amicizia e benevolenza per gli altri. La SIAC è onorata di annoverare tra i suoi membri e nel suo consiglio scientifico Carlos Lévy, illustre socio fondatore. È con gioia e rispetto che tutti i membri della SIAC gli hanno offerto la spada di accademico.
