M. Celio Rufo (RE n° 35; MRR 2, 540; MRR Suppl. 11-12), dopo l’aprile del 56, fece di nuovo causa a L. Calpurnio Bestia (RE n° 24; MRR 2, 541; MRR Suppl. 12), sempre accusandolo de ambitu (si veda per il processo precedente Pro Bestia V ). Questa volta Cicerone non riuscì ad ottenere l’assoluzione dell’imputato che fu condannato all’esilio finché Cesare e Marco Antonio lo richiamarono, nel 44.
