The title 'Cicero ethicus' is intended to make it clear that this is a look at the Roman author who is recognized not only as a mediator of Hellenistic teachings, but also as a philosophical author with his own ethical standards and concept. To this end, the eight contributions to the anthology turn to the 'Tusculanae disputationes', written in the fall of 45 BC, and subject them to a comparison with the recently written work 'De finibus bonorum et malorum' from philosophical-historical, philological and literary perspectives.
